Owner/President

Russ Ray III grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, and his story is one of perseverance and dedication. Raised in a modest home, he worked hard and earned an ROTC scholarship to Vanderbilt University, one of the nation’s leading private universities. Thanks to the United States Navy, Russ completed his degree and began what would become a noteworthy military career. 

After college, Russ served on active duty, taking on important assignments such as mine warfare in the Persian Gulf during Desert Shield / Desert Storm. His leadership proved crucial, helping his team refine & evolve the Navy’s mine warfare strategy at a critical time. Russ also served in amphibious helicopter attack operations and was part of the initial United Nations mission in Somalia—the same mission depicted in Black Hawk Down. These experiences strengthened his ongoing commitment to veterans and their families, with a special focus on helping them achieve financial security after service.

The discipline and adaptability Russ developed in the military continue to guide him both professionally and personally. He often references the mindset he embraced during his service: “every day, just try not to die today.” It’s a practical attitude that Russ brings to helping his clients face challenges head-on. He’s also passionate about supporting women and children affected by domestic violence, giving his time and resources to this important cause.

Russ now lives in Highland Village, Texas, with his wife—a retired professor recognized for her prolific academic work. Their two sons are both making a difference: one as a military officer working at the intersection of space and naval research, and the other supporting Texas' wildlife diversity. The family shares their home with three dogs and enjoys life in the hills around Highland Village, Texas. Russ is proud of his service, values lifelong learning, and remains committed to making a positive difference wherever he can.
